The restaurant stands out not just for its flavorful dishes but also for its cozy setting, blending traditional Chinese elements with subtle Indonesian touches, making it a comfortable spot for both casual meals and special gatherings.

One of the restaurant’s highlights is its generous portions, ideal for sharing among small groups. Cozy restaurant with strong chinese peranakan ambience. Fast service. This time we ordered Crab Fried Rice and Crab Claw because the portion is very large which easily can be for 3-4 persons. Both delicious as usual but the crab claw can use a little less flour. Nevertheless still has a bit of crunch in it. The free acar mentimun will always be a favorit to start the meal with its fresh tangy flavor. Pricey but worth it because of the big portion. Will always come back.

I stumbled upon Sinar Mandala during a visit to Jakarta, and it exceeded my expectations! The food was absolutely delicious, authentic flavors with a comforting homemade feel. The Asparagus Soup Kepiting was my favorite! So flavorful and perfectly cooked. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, and the atmosphere was cozy, making it a great spot for both casual dining and special occasions. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and the portions you get. I’ll definitely be back when I’m in the area. Highly recommend!

Pretty interesting Chinese cuisine style, unlike other Chinese restaurants this place has its own Indonesian interpretation of popular Chinese recipes in Indonesia. I ordered a fish (couldn’t remember which type but it was most likely Kakap) Asam Manis, Ayam Goreng Mentega, and Fu Yung Hai. All of these are great, portion wise it should be good for 3-4 pax. Ayam Goreng Mentega is executed very well, not overly sweet like how it usually is in generic Chinese restaurants. The fish is pretty interesting, it’s fried in fish and chips-like batter and I requested for the Asam Manis sauce to be served separately. It’s good, not like the typical Chinese fry batter style though, but taste wise and texture wise it’s still very good. Fu Yung Hai is my favorite here, EXTREMELY crispy and from my judgment they’re not stingy with ingredients (but it contains seafood so if you’re allergic please be mindful). Price wise, I would say it’s similar to upscale Hakka or Medanese Chinese restaurants in Pluit areas. So if you’re looking for a twist in your Chinese food cravings, this place is a good option + I think it’s halal.

Legendary Chinese food restaurant in South Jakarta. Although, in overall we cannot compare with Chinese resto in North and West Jakarta that serve pork, but this is one of my favorite since long time ago. They’ve just moved to a new location and rejuvenated. Now the place is bigger, more comfortable, and better interior. Furthermore, it is managed more professionally now. Parking is still an issue in this area, though they provided paid valet parking service. All foods that I had were very nice: nasi goreng udang kepiting, bistik sapi, sop tahu seafood, udang lapis. This is the first time I tried nasi goreng udang kepiting, and found it’s very yummy. Service was excellent too, right from the pre-visit up until the post-visit.

We had dinner at Sinar Mandala, and at that time my body wasn’t feeling too good, so I was really looking for something comforting to eat. My husband insisted I still get some protein, so we ordered shrimp and squid (I think—it slipped my mind a bit). Surprisingly, the food tasted warm and comforting, even though my tongue wasn’t in its best condition. I still enjoyed the meal and managed to finish it despite feeling unwell. The restaurant also has a cozy and unique vibe, which makes the dining experience even nicer.

What a fantastic dining experience! The staff were incredibly attentive, making sure we were comfortable and well taken care of throughout our meal. The atmosphere is cozy yet elegant, perfect to be with friends (our case) or even a business meeting. The dishes are super tasty and super generous so we ended up full and happy! The noodles were delicious but my favourite dish was the bistik sapi, AMAZING beef! We also tried chicken with garlic that was awesome and veggies! A must whenever you are in Jakarta!!!
